Overview

Statistics point to a continuing increase in church attendance in America. Across denominational lines, in congregations of various sizes, in major metropolitan centers, mid-size cities, and tiny rural towns, folks are gathering in growing numbers for fellowship and worship.

This welcomed growth brings with it increased need for space – family worship centers, larger church buildings, schools – room for programs, activities, and people.

For most churches, this means a need for some sort of financing – from property acquisition, to bridge loans, bond programs and long-term mortgage money. The specialized nature of church and other non-profit activities carries over into their financial needs. They need to look to a specialized provider, an organization with years of proven expertise in providing customized financing to meet their unique needs.

Rives, Leavell & Co. (RLC) is just such a firm. RLC specializes in a variety of mortgage lending services on behalf of churches and non-profit institutions. RLC has been active on the local, regional, and national scenes since its inception in 1963, with an impressive record of quality and service to its respected clientele.

Partnering with RLC is American Funding, LLC (AFI), a mortgage management company that specializes in making and servicing first mortgage loans in support of Rives, Leavell & Co.

Working effectively with such a targeted group of clients at times requires unique skills and gifts on the part of the Senior Loan Officer. A working knowledge of church financial decision-making, and a willingness to assist clients with the nuances of document preparation and presentation are often integral to the success of a project.

The Senior Loan Officer reports to the President, and receives the full support of the RLC/AFI Operations staff. Additionally, the Senior Loan Officer will be provided with a comprehensive training program, under the direction of the company President, as well as periodic in-house update training at the home offices of RLC/AFI.
